President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has met with the visiting delegates from Singapore Changi Airport Group and Changi Airport International.
At the meeting held this morning at the President’s Office, the delegation briefed the president on the development model and operation of the Singapore Changi International airport.
President Yameen noted that tourism industry was the backbone of the Maldives’ economy. Highlighting that Ibrahim Nasir International Airport was the main gateway into the Maldives for tourists, the President underscored the need for expansion with the increasing passenger flow.
In this regard, the President also shared with the delegation, the Government vision to undertake multiple developmental projects at the airport.
The meeting was attended by Minister of Tourism Hon. Ahmed Adeeb Abdul Gafoor.
