Ambassador of China accredited to the Maldives, Yu Hongyao has paid a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Waheed. The meeting was held this afternoon at the President’s Office.
At the meeting, President Waheed briefed the Ambassador on the proceedings of the presidential election which was held on 7th September.
The President and the Ambassador further discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of further strengthening these ties. In this regard, they explored possibilities of increasing Private Sector performance between the two countries.
At the meeting, the President also expressed his gratitude to the Chinese Government, for their continuous cooperation and support to the Maldives.
