President Mohamed Waheed has today met with Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand. The meeting was held this afternoon at Mulee-aage.
The President and the Princess discussed strengthening bilateral relations between the Maldives and Thailand. In this regard, he discussed further expanding and diversifying the relations between the two countries in areas such as fisheries, agriculture, construction sectors.
President also briefed the Princess on Thai Prime Minister’s visit to the Maldives last June, and said Princess Sirindhorn’s visit would further strengthen the relations between the Maldives and Thailand.
Princess Sirindhorn spoke about activities in assisting autistic children and other special needs children.
The meeting was also attended by First Lady Ilham Hussain.
Before the meeting Princess Sirindhorn signed a visitor’s book and met with members of the Cabinet.
