President Dr Mohamed Waheed has sent a message of congratulations His Excellency Dato' Sri Haji Mohammad Najib bin Tun Haji Abdul Razak, on his appointment as the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
The President’s message reads as follows:
“On behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives, and on my own behalf, I have the honour to extend to Your Excellency, my sincere good wishes and congratulations on your appointment as the Prime Minister of Malaysia.
“I am ever more confident that under your leadership, the Malaysian people will have a more prosperous society and a more hopeful future. I look forward to working closely with you and the coalition government towards a stronger relationship between our two countries and in addressing our common global challenges.
“I am confident that the friendly relations that exist between our two countries will be further enhanced in the coming years. May I also convey my best wishes for your good health and well-being, as well as for the continued progress and prosperity of the people of Malaysia.”
