President Dr Mohamed Waheed has inaugurated the Health Trust Fund. The ceremony was held today at Traders Hotel.
Speaking at the ceremony, the President said that a trust fund does not only provide means of finances, but rather facilitates the improvement of a particular service sector.
The President called upon everyone to contribute to the Health Trust Fund as much as possible. He said that the Health Trust Fund could be maintained only if it was donated sufficient assets, and that it was very important for the government and the private sector to contribute in this way.
In his speech, the President said that there was still a lot to be done in the Health Sector, and spoke of the challenges faced in realizing them. In this regard, the President especially emphasized the budgetary difficulties.
In his speech, the President said that the inauguration of the Health Trust Fund opened up a great opportunity for the private sector to participate in the advancement of the Health Industry of Maldives. Further, the President expressed gratitude to all stakeholders contributing the the development of the Maldives’ Health Sector.
