A lecture on decentralisation will be delivered by the leader of the United National Party of Sri Lanka, Honourable Ranil Wickremesinghe tomorrow at 11am. The lecture was arranged following the request from President Nasheed during the courtesy call of Wickremesinghe on the President which was held this morning at the President’s Office.
The lecture will be attended by Ministers, members of the People’s Majlis, senior government officials, members of clubs and organisations, members of developmental organisations and senior members of political parties.
During the meeting with Hon Wickremesinghe, the President noted that strong bilateral ties existed between the Maldives and Sri Lanka and expressed the strong wish to maintain and expand friendly relations and reinforce mutually beneficial cooperation between the Maldives and Sri Lanka.
The President briefed Hon Wickremesinghe on the various developmental projects undertaken by the government. Discussions were also focused on the investment opportunities in the Maldives for Sri Lankan investors.
