President Mohamed Nasheed has today met with Honorary Consul of Maldives in Seychelles, Mr Lambert Bonne.
Discussions were focused on ways of strengthening bilateral relations between the Maldives and Seychelles. The President and the Honorary Consul especially discussed advancing relations in the areas of tourism and fisheries.
President Nasheed noted that strengthening trade relations between the two countries could be a way forward in advancing bilateral relations between the two counties.
President also spoke on forging stronger link among small island states, which he said, would give a louder voice to those states in the international arena.
Mr Lambert Bonne assured that he would give his full cooperation towards strengthening greater ties between the two countries. He also briefed the President on the economic situation of Seychelles.
