President Nasheed has today met with the people of Olhuvelifushi. Speaking with the people, the President noted that a major difficulty faced by the island’s school was the shortage of Islam and Dhivehi teachers. Speaking in this regard, the President said that that the government would try its best to soon find ways to resolve this problem.
Speaking on the government’s decision to give a pension of Rf 2000 for everyone over 65 years old, the President said that hopefully by the end of this month every person of Olhuvelifushi over 65 years of age, would get the pension.
Further, the President said that he hoped the state-funded health insurance scheme would come in to effect this month.
The President has, this afternoon, returned Male’ after concluding his tour to Faadhippolhu.
