The Cabinet has today decided to compile a SIM card user policy for SIM cards issued by Maldivian telecommunication companies, due to the frequent misuse of unregistered SIM cards that threaten national security.
The decision was made following deliberations on a paper presented by the Ministry of Transport and Communication at today’s meeting of the Cabinet. It was also decided that this policy would require every SIM card to be properly registered.
