New Ambassador of Laos accredited to the Maldives, Thongohanh Syackhaphon presented his letter of credence to President Dr Mohamed Waheed this morning.
At the ceremony held at the President’s Office to present the credentials, President Waheed congratulated Ambassador Syackhaphon.
Meeting the new Ambassador afterwards, the President and the Ambassador discussed bilateral relations that exist between the two countries and ways to further strengthen ties.
The President and the Ambassador further explored opportunities for increasing cooperation between the Maldives and Laos in the areas of tourism, trade and construction industry.
