President Dr Mohamed Waheed has today met with the Turkish President, Abdullah Gül.
The two leaders discussed on ways to enhance economic relations between the two countries.
President Waheed briefed President Gül on the investment opportunities in the Maldives in the areas of housing and construction, fisheries and tourism.
Highlighting the close and long standing bilateral relationship that exists between the two countries, President Gül expressed interest in expanding this relationship to other areas. In this regard, he expressed desire to extend assistance to strengthening trade relations, especially in the development of fisheries sector.
