President Dr Mohamed Waheed who is currently on a tour to North Miladhunmadulu Atoll visited Funadhoo island today.
During his visit to the island, President Waheed laid the foundation stone of the multipurpose hall and 10 new class rooms to be built in Funadhoo School.
In his speech during the ceremony, President Waheed spoke on the importance of educating parents to be effective as possible in raising children. He said the future of our children would depend on the way they are nurtured and the good behaviour that parents instil in them.
President said a building alone would not be enough to educate students, and that a variety of programs should also be conducted with a proper curriculum. He also noted the importance of qualified teachers.
In his speech, President Waheed said the success of the school would be reflected on the quality of its students. Speaking in this regard President Waheed noted that the performance of Funadhoo School students have improved over the year and congratulated the teachers, parents of Funadhoo school for this success.
