President Dr Mohamed Waheed has appealed to the Maldivian people to maintain good relations and work for a common goal, in the days ahead. The President made this appeal in his address to the people of Noomaraa of North Miladhummadulu atoll.
In his speech, the President noted that the conflicts that had risen among the people earlier have now died down, and that we can now see that brotherhood and unity being maintained among the people again.
Continuing in this regard, the President praised the people of Noomaraa for being a very united populace, and expressed his pleasure that the leaders and people of the island, who belonged to the different political parties could work together. He further said that the major projects required in islands could not be carried out if there was discord in the community, and called for strong relations among the people.
