Ambassador of Iraq to the Maldives, Mr Kahtan Taha Khalaf has paid a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Waheed this morning.
At the meeting held at the President’s Office, the President briefed the Ambassador on the current political status of the country and on the presidential election to be held this year.
The President and the Ambassador also discussed bilateral relations between the two countries. They explored possibilities of increasing Iraq investments in the areas of fisheries, tourism and oil industries.
Ambassador Khalaf reassured President Waheed of Iraq’s continuous support and cooperation to the Maldives.
