President Dr Mohamed Waheed has today met with Dr Mahathir Mohamed, the former Prime Minister of Malaysia.
In the meeting during the President’s ongoing private visit to Malaysia, discussions were on the close bilateral relations between the Maldives and Malaysia. The President also discussed on economic and political situation in the Maldives.
The President told Dr Mahathir that the latter had always kept a close relationship with the Maldives and invited him to make a visit to the Maldives at a mutually convenient time. PM Mahathir thanked the President and talked on the relations between the two countries.
