Government today marked the 80th anniversary of the establishment of a cabinet in the Maldives. The President, the Vice President and other members marked the occasion by planting trees at the Sultan Park on Saturday.
At the event, the President said that over the 80 years, members of different cabinets had rendered tremendous services to the country and thanked them all.
He said there were people who had served in different cabinets for a very long time. The President also recognized the role of women cabinet members.
As today also marks 80 years after the first parliament was formed in 1932, the President sent good wishes to the Speaker and members of the People’s Majlis.
