President Dr Mohamed Waheed has departed on visit to some islands in North Huvadhu Atoll this afternoon. First Lady Madam Ilham Hussain will accompany the President on this trip.
The first stop during his tour is Vilingili Island, where the Fishermen’s Day functions will take place.
The official function to mark this year’s Fishermen’s Day will be held this evening at 2030 hours, at the Vilingili Football Stadium.
