President Dr Mohamed Waheed has revealed that the Police has achieved a lot of development on the murder case of late Dr Afrasheem Ali, Parliament Member for the Raa Ungoofaaru region. The President made this remark while speaking to the people of Ungoofaaru Thursday evening, as part of his current tour of some islands in the North Maalhosmadulu Atoll.
In his speech, the President said that the Police had been exercising all the tools and resources available, including international assistance, in investigating the case most professionally. President Waheed underlined with gratitude, the results achieved by the Police, saying that details of the investigation would soon be made public.
In his speech, the President highlighted the changes Maldives has seen over the years. He especially noted that today we were not living in the same peaceful, harmonious environment that we did before.
