President Dr Mohamed Waheed and First Lady Madam Ilham Hussain have this evening attended the function organised by the Maldives National Defence Force, to mark this year’s Victory Day. The function was held at the Republic Square.
Speakers at the function highlighted on the peaceful and harmonious environment in the Maldives before the November 3 1988, and shared their experiences of the day.
Video presentations on the November 3 were also shown at the function, which focused on the lives and sacrifices of the martyrs and living heroes, and the Maldives’ triumph of that day. Four songs composed for the Victory Day were also sung live with an orchestra. President Dr Mohamed Waheed launched the song CD.
The function concluded with fireworks.
