President Dr Mohamed Waheed has said that this administration would not sell off state property or the islands to foreigners, to balance our budget. The President made this remark while speaking to the people of Meedhoo, as part of his current visit to some islands in Dhaalu Atoll.

The President said that in working towards achieving our goals, we should put forward unity and teamwork, and that by working together we could achieve all our goals.

Speaking in this regard, the President reassured that this administration did not discriminate against anyone, and that what the Maldives needed today was not different colors. He further said that today the country needs for everyone to work together under the national flag, and move forward.

In his speech, the President noted that in spite of the country stabilizing, there was still a group of people trying to portray to the global community that the country was still under domestic conflict. He said that they were driven by their worry of the Maldivian economy flourishing, and the people living better lives. Noting that everything in the Maldives was now going on smoothly, the President said that the global community now knows the truth about the country.
