General Officer Commanding in Chief of Southern Army Command of India, Lieutenant General A K Singh has today paid a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Waheed.

At the meeting held at the President’s Office, the President noted the good relations between the Maldivian and Indian army forces. The President expressed his gratitude to the Indian government for their support being provided to the military hospital recently opened in Male’.

Further, President Waheed underlined the importance of cooperation and sharing of resources among countries, in maintaining security of this region.

Highlighting the great level of trusted bond established between the forces of the two countries, Lieutenant General A K Singh noted the need to collaborate and work together, in countering the security issues faced in either country.
