President Dr Mohamed Waheed called on everyone to work together for the country, without regard to personal views or beliefs.

The President made this appeal while addressing the people of Thinadhoo of Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, as part of his current visit to the island. Noting that the State would be able to provide its services to the people with the cooperation from Island Councils and Atoll Councils, the President said that the projects planned for Thinadhoo could be smoothly carried out with the support from the leaders of the island.

Speaking in this regard, the President expressed his hopes for the developmental schemes planned for Thinadhoo to be carried out as planned during the next year, and called upon the members of the Thinadhoo Island Council to work with the government in achieving those goals.

In his speech, the President said that the government provides its public services to the whole population of the island, and to prevent the government from carrying out its responsibilities out of anger towards the government or the President would be unreasonable.

During his visit to the Island of Thinadhoo, President Waheed also inaugurated the drinking water treatment plantation in Thinadhoo.
