The US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Mr Robert Blake today paid a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Waheed.
At the meeting held at the President’s Office this morning, the President highlighted the close bilateral relations between the Maldives and America, and expressed his gratitude to the American government for their continuous support and assistance to the Maldives. The President noted that the political situation in the Maldives was now stabilizing.
Mr Robert Blake underlined that President Waheed’s support and cooperation given to the independent commissions was a good signal that democratic values are being upheld in the Maldives.
