Norwegian Ambassador pays farewell call on Vice President

Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to the Maldives, Hilde Haraldstad has paid her farewell call on Vice President Mohamed Waheed Deen today.

At the meeting held at the President’s Office, the Vice President expressed his gratitude to the Ambassador for the cooperation and assistance provided to the Maldives during her tenure. The Vice President also conveyed his hopes to further strengthen the close mutual relations the two countries held.

At the meeting, the Vice President highlighted the current political situation in the Maldives. Speaking in this regard, Vice President Waheed Deen briefed Ambassador Haraldstad on the status of the all-party talks and the progress of the Commission of National Inquiry.

The Norwegian Ambassador said that it was a great pleasure to serve the Maldives as her country’s Ambassador. Further, Ambassador Haraldstad reassured of Norway’s continuous support and cooperation to the Maldives.
