President Dr Mohamed Waheed met with the visiting President of Palestine, Dr Mahmoud Abbas. The meeting was held at the President’s Office this afternoon.
The two leaders discussed ways to enhance the existing close friendly relations between the two countries.
President Waheed thanked President Abbas for accepting his invitation to visit the country. He also expressed the Maldives’ support for the Palestinian people.
President Abbas thanked the Maldivian government and people for the warm welcome extended to him and his delegation. He also expressed confidence that his visit to the Maldives would boost the close fraternal relations that exist between the two countries in the time ahead.
