President Dr Mohamed Waheed has today met with the Health Ministers of SAARC countries, attending the 4th meeting of SAARC Health Ministers.
During the meeting held this morning at Paradise Island Resort, the President highlighted the challenges faced in standardising the health system in the SAARC region.
The President also expressed his confidence that, with the mutual support from all SAARC countries, the developmental goals discussed at last year’s SAARC Summit could be achieved. He said that he looked forward for greater cooperation among all SAARC countries in attaining progress in all fields, especially in the health sector of the region.
Further, President Waheed briefed the SAARC Health Ministers on the political situation of the Maldives.
