Honorary Consul of Maldives to Germany Christian von Stetten has today paid a courtesy call on President Dr Mohamed Waheed. The meeting was held at the President’s Office.
Highlighting the political challenges faced by the government during the transition of power on 7 February, the President said that Maldives’ participation in the ITB Berlin Fair 2012 had been a good opportunity to further improve the image of Maldives. President Waheed also assured that the political situation in the Maldives was now calm.
Honorary Consul Christian von Stetten expressed his hopes of further enhancing the close bilateral relations between the two countries. Discussions were also held on ways to strengthen cultural and economic cooperation between the two countries.
