President Dr Mohamed Waheed has today met with the visiting high-level delegation representing Malaysian tourism industry. The meeting was held this morning at the President’s Office.
The President commended Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA)’s efforts in promoting the tourism industry of Malaysia.
Stressing the high number of Maldivian visitors to Malaysia, President Waheed also discussed ways to further extend the bilateral cooperation between the two countries, in the tourism sector.
The Malaysian delegation noted that the Maldives was an important tourist destination that should be focused on. They also noted that the World Islamic Tourism Mart (WITM 2012), organised by MATTA, was going to be a good exposure for the tourism industry in the Maldives.
