Members of Naifaru Island Council, of Lhaviyani Atoll, have today met with President Dr Mohamed Waheed. The meeting was held this afternoon at the President’s Office.

Noting that the island had been very much neglected in the past three years, council members informed the President, the problematic issues encountered by the people. Members focused on the establishment of a good quality sewerage system in the island, and the challenges faced in awarding new housing plots to the people. The council members also highlighted their hopes for the development of a spacious harbour, and further advancement of the higher education system in the island.

President Waheed assured council members that their issues would be looked into, and necessary measures would be taken.
