As part of his ongoing trip to Laamu atoll, President Dr Mohamed Waheed visited Mundoo on Saturday. President Waheed was warmly greeted on his arrival to the island. The President later addressed the people of Mundoo.
The President's speech was focused on the general welfare of the people and their concerns. In this regard, President Waheed expressed regret that tsunami aid to the affected families was not distributed properly.
Continuing in this regard, President Waheed said the government should address their concerns after consultations with the island council. He requested the island council to discuss with the government ministries to find out ways to address the developmental needs of the people.
