President Dr Mohamed Waheed has inaugurated the Funadhoo Powerhouse Development Project by laying the foundation for the extension of the powerhouse.
Speaking at the ceremony held this afternoon, President Waheed commended the efforts put in by the people of Funadhoo and Funadhoo Island Council, in providing electricity to the whole island.
In his speech, the President said that the government was revising the organisation of the utility companies, and assured that the government would provide assistance for powerhouses run by island communities.
