President Nasheed today met with the Indian and Sri Lankan delegates participating in the Trilateral discussion in maritime security in the Indian Ocean region. The two meetings were held separately at the President’s Office.
Discussions at the meetings were mainly focused on maritime security concerns in the region and ways to address those concerns. The President highlighted the need to have a regional strategy to address maritime security threats in the region such as piracy and drug trafficking.
