President Mohamed Nasheed met with prominent Indian businessman Mr Ratan Tata Chairman of Tata Group on Friday, and held discussions on business and investment opportunities in the Maldives.
The meeting took place at the Taj Mahal Hotel in New Delhi, where the President is staying in his ongoing 5-day visit to India.
During the meeting, Mr Tata expressed strong interest to collaborate with the government of the Maldives in its developmental projects.
The President is visiting India on the invitation of the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to participate in a high level climate conference in New Delhi. President Nasheed addressed the conference on Thursday.
Separately, the President gave interviews to All India Radio and POI TV of India this morning.
The President will leave to Hyderabad today before returning to the Maldives.
In Hyderabad, he will attend a charity concert by Oscar winning musician A R Rahman, before returning to the Maldives.
