As part of the tour launched yesterday to selected islands in Haa Alif Atoll and Shaviyani Atoll, President Mohamed Nasheed visited Narudhoo and Feevah of Shaviyani Atoll today.

Meeting the people of Narudhoo, the President highlighted the high number of Narudhoo students residing in Haa Dhaalu Kulhudhuffushi for educational purposes. The President said that the government was currently holding talks with the Kulhudhuffushi Island Council, to arrange easier accommodation for the students migrating in from Narudhoo.

Concluding his visit to Narudhoo, President Nasheed visited Feevah of Shaviyani Atoll.

Addressing the people of Feevah, President Nasheed said that the government attached great importance to assisting farmers in marketing their agricultural products, considering the island’s status as an agricultural island. He also assured that the government will continue its efforts in further facilitating farmers living in island communities.

Meeting the Island Councils of Narudhoo and Feevah, the President exchanged views with the Council members on various developmental projects in the pipeline for the islands.
