President Mohamed Nasheed has today met with the Alifu Alifu Mathiveri Island Council, as part of his one day trip to the island.
At the meeting, President Nasheed exchanged views with the council members, on the government’s ongoing and planned development projects for the island. Discussions were also held on the renovation of the island’s football stadium, and the development of football and other sports in the island. The President noted that responsible youth can be built through development programmes like “Hunaru”.
Further, the President met with participants of the Olympic Committee workshop held at Alifu Alifu Mathiveri School. He also visited the Alifu Alifu Mathiveri Health Centre.
