President Mohamed Nasheed has today inaugurated the Male’ City Greenery Programme, for a “greener, shadier and more peaceful” Male’.
Speaking at the ceremony held at the Male’ City Hall, the President highlighted the government’s efforts in solving the housing problems faced by the people of Male’ City. Speaking in this regard, President Nasheed underscored the progress of the government housing project “Veshifahi Male’ Programme”. He also revealed the government’s plans for more flats to be built in an additional 6 sites in Male’ City.
In his speech, the President also highlighted the necessity for a recreational space for youth, referring to the Ministry of Human Resources, Youth and Sports’ plans to build a new stadium and swimming pool in Male’, and to expand the Male’ Sports Complex.
