President Mohamed Nasheed has today sent his condolences to the family of Corporal Ibrahim Shaukath of Maldives National Defence Force, who passed away due to a fatal gunshot to the head, while completing Body Guard training.
During a phone call with the father of the deceased, the President said that he was deeply shocked and saddened to hear about the incident, and sent his sincere condolences to the family.
President Nasheed also assured late Shaukath’s father that a full investigation of today’s incident was currently underway.
