President Mohamed Nasheed has today met with the Russian Honorary Consul to the Maldives Ahmed Mahir Didi.
At the meeting held at the President’s Office, the President conveyed his gratitude to the Honorary Consul for his assistance given to the Maldivian teams that took part in the 8th Indian Ocean Island Games held in Seychelles from 5th to 14th August.
Honorary Consul Ahmed Mahir Didi expressed his gratefulness to President Nasheed for personally attending the Games, noting that his presence was an immeasurable encouragement for the Maldivian contingent.
Discussions were also held on the progress of the establishment of a shipping line between the Maldives and other Indian Ocean Island Nations.
