President Mohamed Nasheed has today met with the UN Special Rapporteur on the Situation of Human Rights in Iran, Dr. Ahmed Shaheed.
At the meeting held this morning at the President’s Office, discussions were focused on the Maldives’ part in solving the human rights situation in the Middle East. Dr. Shaheed also highlighted on the importance of raising the issue of formulating a better human rights policy in the South Asian region, at the SAARC Summit to be held in Addu City this year.
