President Mohamed Nasheed has highlighted the need to establish a system, that allows the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) to overcome any obstacle faced, with confidence. Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the MNDF Corps of Engineers this morning, the President noted that the army should be prepared for any course of events that comes their way, and should never back down.
The President said that one of the reasons for the establishment of such a Corps is the need to undertake any pressing matters at that time, immediately and without fault. Speaking in this regard, President Nasheed also stated that the Maldivian Armed Forces have taken on a lot of national crises without hesitation, and that every Maldivian proudly acknowledges their commitment.
The ceremony was held at the Maldives National Defence Force Headquarters.
