As part of the tour to Thaa Atoll, President Mohamed Nasheed has visited Madifushi.
During the visit to Madufushi, President Nasheed met with Madufushi Island Council.
Meeting the island council, the President praised the cooperative spirit in which all the members of the Madifushi Island Council work with the people for the development of the island.
He urged the council to plan programmes to increase the council’s income, in working for the development of the island.
Additionally, President Nasheed appealed to the Island Council to jointly work with the school and residents to consistently improve the academic performance of students of the island school.
Further the President and the council exchanged views on proposed and ongoing development programs in Madifushi.
The President also inspected the educational and health facilities available in the island.
