President Appoints Ahmed Inaz as the Minister of Finance and Treasury

President Mohamed Nasheed has appointed Mr Ahmed Inaz as the Minister of Finance and Treasury today.

Mr Inaz previously held the post of the Minister of State for Economic Development.

Speaking after the presentation of the Letter of Appointment to Mr Inaz, President Nasheed, praising Mr Inaz’s experience in economic policy, expressed his appreciation for Mr Inaz’s advice on the economic policies over the past two years.

The President especially expressed gratitude for Mr Inaz’z advice today on exchange rate to solve dollar shortage in the Maldives.

Prior to the presentation of the Letter of Appointment, Mr Inaz took the oath of office of the members of the Cabinet before the Supreme Court Judge Abdulla Areef.
