The Secretary General of SAARC, Dr. Sheel Kant Sharma has called on President Nasheed today. The meeting was held this afternoon at the President’s Office.
Secretary General Sharma sought the advice of the President in planning the activities of SAARC. The President expressed his views on making SAARC a more dynamic association.
Highlighting that South Asian countries faced numerous challenges, President Nasheed exchanged views with Dr. Sheel Kant Sharma on possible programmes that could be implemented by SAARC to overcome these challenges.
The Secretary General applauded the President’s leadership and noted the importance that he attaches for the development of SAARC.
