During his current tour to Baa atoll, the President today visited Kendhoo island and met with the people of the island.
The President gave an update of developmental projects and briefed on planned projects for the islands.
He discussed the achievements in providing social security services to the people and noted that 157 people of the island had been registered in the Madhana health insurance scheme while 42 people over 65 years of age are enlisted for Rf 2000 old age pension. The President also noted that development of a waste management system in Kendhoo was included in 2011 budget.
The President also spoke on government’s major pledges and plans for the socio-economic development of the country.
