President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has appointed two individuals to ministerial-rank positions at the President’s Office.
The President appointed Mohamed Tholal as Principal Secretary to the President for Tertiary Health Services, and Ahmed Habeeb as Principal Secretary to the President on Policy and Manifesto.
Prior to this appointment, Mohamed Tholal served as the Commissioner of Sports. He is an experienced professional who has previously held several key government and state positions, including Senior Curriculum Developer at the Education Development Centre, Assistant Director General and Director General at the Elections Commission, Technical Advisor to the Minister at the Ministry of Human Resources, Youth and Sports, and Deputy Minister at the Ministry of Home Affairs. Furthermore, Tholal has made significant contributions to the advancement of sports in the Maldives.
Ahmed Habeeb previously served as the General Manager of Villa Air. His past government experience includes serving as the State Minister at the Ministry of Housing and Infrastructure. Additionally, he has held roles such as Manager at Villa Hakatha and Deputy Manager of Villa Air's Kaadedhdhoo Airport. Habeeb holds a Master of Science in Project Management from Curtin University, Australia.
