His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended congratulations on behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives to His Excellency Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, President of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, following his election.
In his letter, the President noted that the President's election, marking Bangladesh's first contested presidential vote in 35 years, represents a significant milestone in the country's democratic journey and reflects the trust placed in him.
President Dr Muizzu emphasised that the enduring relationship between the Maldives and Bangladesh is founded upon strong historical ties and a shared commitment to regional stability and development. He expressed confidence that under the leadership of the newly elected President, cooperation between the Maldives and Bangladesh will continue to grow in depth and scope, bringing the two countries even closer together in the years ahead.
President Dr Muizzu concluded his letter with the hope that during President Mirza Fakhrul's tenure, Bangladesh will continue its path towards lasting peace, progress, and prosperity.
