President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with the HA. Utheemu Council, the Women's Development Committee (WDC), and heads of local institutions to discuss key priorities for the island's development. The meeting took place this afternoon at the Utheemu Council Secretariat.

During the meeting, the Utheemu Council expressed their hope for the prompt commencement of the island's harbour and the ‘Bandaara’ Mosque projects. Council members sought the latest updates on the State House project from the President and requested the expedited completion of the futsal and volleyball courts, alongside the new Council Secretariat building. Furthermore, they apprised the President of the shortage of nurses and general staffing constraints at the island's health centre.

Speaking at today's meeting, the President assured the Council that he would look into the issues raised. He further affirmed his commitment to finding solutions to the concerns highlighted by the members.
