President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has commenced a series of meetings formally titled ‘Rayyithunge Adu’, providing an inclusive opportunity for citizens wishing to meet with him directly. As part of the initiative, the President’s Office broadcast the inaugural episode of ‘Rayyithunge Adu’ this evening across social media platforms and Public Service Media (PSM), featuring selected highlights from the initial consultations.
During the sessions, the President held one-to-one meetings with citizens who had registered to participate. He engaged in detailed discussions on the matters they raised, explored ways in which the Government could assist in addressing their respective needs, and worked to facilitate practical and timely solutions.
Covering the country’s 93 electoral constituencies, the nationwide initiative first opened registration to citizens of Hulhumalé North, Hulhudhoo, Hoarafushi and Hulhumalé Central. The second round subsequently extended the opportunity to citizens of Maafannu South, Ungoofaaru, Kelaa and Fuvahmulah South. Registration for the third round is currently open to citizens of Ihavandhoo, Naifaru, Fonadhoo, Meedhoo, Vilimalé, Machangolhi South, Maamigili and Thinadhoo North.
The initiative follows the President’s announcement on 25 June, when he expressed his intention to launch a programme enabling citizens from constituencies across the country to meet and converse with him directly. The programme is guided by the President’s commitment to listening more closely to the public, ensuring that individual concerns are heard and addressed.
