President Dr Mohamed Muizzu is set to confer the National Award of Honour and the National Award of Recognition at the official ceremony marking this year's National Day, to be held in Utheemu at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, 15 August 2026.
The National Award of Honour will go to three individuals and one organisation, and the National Award of Recognition to seven individuals and one company. The National Award for Service will also be conferred posthumously on one individual.
The recipients were selected by the National Awards Committee, established by the President. Those receiving the National Award of Honour will each be presented with a shield of honour, a badge of honour and a commemorative certificate, while recipients of the National Award of Recognition will receive a commemorative plaque and a certificate.
