President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the Late Deputy Commissioner of Police (Retired) Abdul Shakoor Abdulla, as well as to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) and the Maldives Police Service (MPS), following his passing.
In a post shared on X, the President expressed his profound sadness upon learning of the news. He paid tribute to the Late Abdul Shakoor Abdulla as a distinguished and dedicated Maldivian who served his nation with valour, notably during the terror attack of 3 November 1988. The President further highlighted his pivotal contributions to reforming the prison system and combating drug abuse, describing him as a man who devoted his life to the service of his nation.
Abdul Shakoor Abdulla served for over 43 years within MNDF and MPS, holding several senior leadership positions in both institutions. He served with the National Security Service (NSS) for over 39 years, and later with the MPS from its establishment until his retirement. In recognition of his outstanding service, he was honoured with the National Award for Public Service in 2024.
President Dr Muizzu concluded his condolences by praying to Almighty Allah (SWT) to grant the Late Abdul Shakoor Abdulla's soul eternal peace in Jannah.
